Missy Rohs

Patients come to health-care providers for a variety of physical complaints, involving a many different organ systems. Treating those physical symptoms effectively often requires relaxing the central nervous system so healing can occur. Herbalist Missy Rohs takes you through calming herbs (a.k.a. nervines) for specific organ systems, including tips for differentiating when each herb will be most effective and cases illustrating those uses.

Missy Rohs is founder and principal instructor at Arctos School of Herbal and Botanical Studies in Portland, and is a practicing clinical and community herbalist. Missy grows and wildcrafts her own herbs with a focus on sustainable herbal remedies: those that grow easily in populated habitats, and those that can be harvested in the wild with minimal impact. Missy’s love of plants, concern for the planet, critique of capitalism, and feminist perspective all inform her commitment to plant medicine.
